2017 Bike line up...

As usual the first blog post of the year is a quick look at my bikes going into the new year. Only one recent addition, though more wheels have been added giving even more versatility to my 3 Fatbikes.

Road;
For road riding the Dawes Ultra Galaxy continues to be a lovely bike to ride,  now it will not ride through the daily grime of muddy country roads as i have bought a bike just for commuting...

The Pashley Speed 5 is a bit different!, heralding back to the British path racers of the 1930s it has Reynolds 531 frame tubes drawn esp here in England by Reynolds for Pashley and it is also built here in Britain. Drum brakes and Sturmey Archer 5 speed hub gear along with steel chain ring and hub sprocket, and BMX chain should last a long time.  wide rims and approx 45mm wide big 28" tyres all keep with my steel frame big wheel favourite type of bikes for cycling locally here in East Lothian be it on or off road...

Pugsley`s;
Both Pugsleys are my go to Fatbikes, both having 4" Fat wheels and 3"  29+ wheels  (sharing the same front 29+).  The new Pug has 2x9 gears...

The old Pug has Alfine 8 speed internal gear hub (IGH) option, this bike has mudguards on and mostly used this now during winter...
Both bikes have loads of bike packing bag options, pedals, handlebars,  i have a huge box of spares now for Pugsleys- hubs, drive trains, tyres, rims, Bottom brackets etc..., enough to keep them running for years!...

Surly Wednesday;
My treat bike!,  the Wednesday has remained unchanged since i built it except to run it with 4" Fat tyres instead of 4.8" and the problems of tyre clearance etc i had doing so,
650B Wednesday;
There is now another wheel set for the Wednesday - 27.5 x 50mm  wheels with 3" tyres  using the same Halo hubs so once another cassette and discs are added i will have 2 bikes in one also with the Wednesday - this bike is after all replacing a Krampus and i still have a Bluto suspension fork to add to the bike and Hydraulic brakes as it needs them as its rapid!...

The Wednesday with these 27.5+ wheels fitted along with a suspension fork will be my mountain bike for regular summer trail riding and the odd visit to Glentress etc,  Two bikes in one...

The + wheels have tubes at present but i plan to set them up tubeless, something i have wanted to but failed to do so with the Halo Freedom Fatbike rims. Even trying ghetto tubeless using the split tube method failed, so i have a set of DT Swiss rims to swap over onto the existing hubs and spokes and setting up tubeless with these will be easy, With this last job to do my Fatbikes will be all sorted!....

All there is now to do is go ride and have fun!...

More soon...
